The Department of Cardiology provides comprehensive treatment of heart and vascular diseases for adults and children. The procedures of shunting, angiography, installation of pacemakers, heart valve replacement, treatment of arrhythmia, cryoablation are carried out. In the treatment of congenital heart defects, non-surgical treatment is possible.
The department has three operating rooms, 26 intensive care beds (isolation rooms, incubators and beds for newborns), as well as 32 beds in the polyclinic. It is important to note that the intensive care unit is equipped with advanced respiratory support devices, monitors that track haemodynamic parameters, and NIRS (near-infrared spectroscopy) devices that monitor brain function during and after surgery. The anaesthesiology and intensive care unit continues to closely monitor patients in collaboration with the cardiovascular surgery department before and after surgery.
Coronary artery disease is treated with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in adult patients. In cases of rheumatic or acquired valve disease, valve repair or replacement surgery is performed.
